I just can't help admiring our Japanese maples every spring.  There are other lovely trees blooming–cherries especially and my apple and pear trees are just starting, but the Japanese maples are the best.  Notice this one has three colors at once–it sprouts in green then quickly transitions through yellow to red depending on which leaves get the most sun first.

  1. That photo looks like it was taken on Easton.
Doesn’t Burlingame have the Best Trees? I doubt if there are any other “Munis” on the Peninsula that do more to create a viable Urban Forest for their community.
Good Work City of Burlingame Park Dept. Tree Guys.

Agreed. This maple is in my yard which isn’t on Easton 🙂
A bit of a walk about today yields that the dogwoods are looking especially good along with the apple trees. With the wind today, better get out and enjoy them before they blow away.
