I'm thinking it might be time to recapture a parking space or two on the Ave.  After walking past this 4-spot motorcycle parking spot (and the one directly across the Ave on Primrose) for a year or more, I cannot recall seeing a single motorcycle ever parked in either spot.  Let's recapture at least one of them for cars.  And put the meter in, too!

I see many motorcycles parked there- sometimes 3 or 4. I’m one of them. So- you may lose 3 or four car-parking spaces when the one motorcycle takes up a full spot.

Seems like 4 spots is enough and we have 8. How about turning one of them into a parklet?

Heard there are a lot of parking spaces in the Green Banker building parking lot, because as we know, Stanley Lo never has trouble finding parking spots downtown.

This comment was entered on another thread about real estate values, so we are reposting it here where it is closer to the topic at hand. Feel free to respond here, please:
Last week I almost fell over in front of the Gap on B Avenue.
A couple of those new sidewalk pavers have come loose and were sticking up about 2″. The downtown was just remodeled 2 years ago. The pavers look nice but are they sturdy enough to hold up for years to come?

It looks like you took this picture when it was raining– not many motorcycles ride in the rain. I drive a scooter and park downtown often– I’m always sqeezing between bikes.
And without motorcycle parking there’s something even more frustrating… motorcycles parked in car parking spaces. What a waste! 🙂

Beautiful day today, walked by twice, no motorcycles either time. I’m not saying get rid of all 8 spots, just 4 of them (one regular sized space, instead of the two we have now for motorcycles).

Why are there not any parking meters on these motorcycle spots? The guy with the sweet beige Sportster has been parking for free forevah. Why is that?

Better MPG, less pollution, smaller footprint = good for the enviroment. Same thinking as HOV lanes, carpool lanes and toll lanes to save the whales.

Much more noisy especially on a commercial pedestrian street. Let’s charge them, please.

    Trade you for leaf-blower ban.
