I'm not one of those people for whom the BHS football field bleachers hold fond memories because I am not a native Panther, but I bet there are more than a few Voice readers that have a wistful thought or two looking at these photos.  Was it that first kiss?  A Pabst Blue Ribbon before the brand was cool?  Do tell.

Here is the current state of the replacement project.  One wonders if they tried to sell off the seat boards or just put the claw to work?  Some will buy almost anything to recapture a bit of their youth!

I remember sitting in that booth announcing a track meet like it was a horse race and reminding runners to indulge in the free drinking water brought to you by the Haas fountain located at the west end of the gym. I was told my announcing services would not be needed in the future.

Per this notation in the DJ’s review of Panther football prospects, we will have to wait until late October to hear John Horgan’s voice on the PA all over south B’game:
Burlingame will have no bigger challenge this season than overcoming its lopsided schedule though. With its home field undergoing a makeover since the outset of summer break to replace the bleachers, Burlingame scheduled its first six games this year on the road. With construction expected to be completed by Oct. 10, the Panthers’ home opener isn’t until Oct. 24 against powerhouse Terra Nova.
