Dedicated to Empowering and Informing the Burlingame Community

I happened to be up by the Easton Addition branch library so I snapped a photo of Little Tommy Jr. so we can check out how he is growing into his father's shoes.

Little Tommy the Tree2

And with the heat wave and no rain in sight, here's a reminder to water the street trees as well.

It is hard to tell from this photo, but that tree is pretty big.

I didn’t measure it, but it’s probably 8 inches in diameter. Tom Sr. was about 6 feet in diameter as I recall. There is a mature Euc behind Tommy Jr. so you have to watch that.

If you ant to see how big the original Tom the tree was, visit the Burlingame Hillsborough History Museum inside the Burlingame Train Station. There is a cross section of the tree on display there along with a beautiful photograph of it just before it was removed.
The museum is open the first Sunday of the month between 1pm and 4pm. ( It will be open this Sunday for a special exhibit called “Burlingame, The Unusual.”
