Happy Hanukkah Burlingame!

At the entrance to Washington Park this evening there was music, menorahs and munchies. The giant menorah was made out of ice and there was a contest for the best menorah made by a child. Free latkes, (potato pancakes for those not familiar), were handed out to the crowd. Seemed like everyone was enjoying the festivities. Happy Hanukkah everyone.

    Hey – I propose the City of Burlingame officially hosts this going forward as the “Holiday Candelabra” lighthing ceremony. That way, no one feels excluded from all the holiday cheer, and the city gets to chip in with its own resources/promotional support. Just some “latkes” for thought 🙂

    Christian, and Jewish faiths have been represented so far.
    Why not African Americans?

    The City of Burlingame celebrated Lyndon La Rouche-“anti semite day” yesterday at the USPS office.

    There has NEVER been a FULL TIME FEMALE BLUE COLLAR EMPLOYEE EVER?

    @holyroller – Burlingame has an African American population of slightly more than 1%. You’re correct…the city is failing in its ethnic diversity efforts. Burlingame needs to hire at least 3.2 more African American people to be representative of the local population.

    Dear Mike,
    No discrimination please! No % please! And stop complaining! City of Burlingame like every other organization MUST hire who is more qualified and can service the public better. This does not mean they should look for the color of the skin before hiring. What is next?! This is 21st century. Every one is equal. So please no exception. The opportunity should be offered to all of us not just to certain group.
