I've enjoyed seeing more different wildlife downtown as the people thin out after about 7pm.  Several people have noticed a pair of ducks walking around the neighborhoods and downtown.  I thought it was just a male and female pair that I have seen before, but last night as "The Birdman" was feeding all of the birds in Lot J behind the Landmark I noticed four male ducks joining the feeding frenzy.  I'll bet there are more hanging around.  They bring a smile to my face and I hope yours as well.

  1. Two females are regular swimmers at the new pool. They have the whole place to themselves.

  2. Mom

The boys are pigging out on carbs while the girls exercise. LOL

  3. I believe the BV has finally “Bottomed Out.”
Since “all good people’ are staying home, City of Burlingame Government’s Hiatus, and from COB Manager, to the 6 hour a week Rec.& Park Custodian receive full pay and benefits. I am not complaining. This is the way all Government should work.

  4. Phinancier

COB should immediately tomorrow cut 15% of staff and furlough another 15% for six months. Police and Fire excepted. The 70% that are left need to step up and maintain city services by learning and doing at least one other job. If library are not reopening start there. We cannot pay people to not work. The furloughed keep their benefits for now. Time to tighten the belt two notches.

  5. MBGA

There should not be a class of government workers who take no hit, and then another class of private sector employees that does take the hit and even pays the full salaries for those government workers.
What do our government employees think of that? What do our elected officials (government employees) think of that?

  6. Mea culpa, “Mom”, ‘ turns out the pool “crowd” is comprised of males (yep, I’d forgotten the males have those pretty green and violet feathers), also shown at Lot “F” in photo, above. The pool has a big cover on it, now. Ducky Days Free Swim may be over.

  7. I do not know how to start a new thread. Therefore, a reason to follow Jennifer Pfaff.
What is happening with the New Recreation Center?
Playgrounds are closed. Any parent who cares about their children will not allow them to play at a community Park under any condition.
In my opinion, any Recreation Center is based around close interaction of Adults and children.
If this Recreation Center-AKA Ground Zero for any infectious disease, goes forward is Criminal.
The Whole Recreation Center Plan, from “Day
One,” has been a “Huge Waste of Public Funds.”
Dear City of Burlingame Manager, and City Elders, you can not ignore the Folly of your mistakes much longer.
    Please Respond.

  8. RE: Jennifer Pfaff.
Ms. Pfaff, in my opinion, is the most thoughtful, honest, and informed contributor at this site.
    Joe to…Sort of.
Ms. Pfaff is the reason I chose to comment after her Post.
    Everybody reads her Post’s.
