Here is a biggie at number 3 that most B'gamers are unaware of–or at least unaware of the potential consequences

3. Explore consolidation of Police Dispatch and other police services with San Mateo. (Police and City Manager)

We've touched on it here, but it merits more public discussion.

It will be a mistake to combine two city’s dispatch. There must have been a reason they had 2 different set ups. Whose idea is this? Councils or the police departments? We must put a lot more value in the opinion of the police departments than councils. Has any of the council members ever worked as a police dispatch? Any idea what the police department think about this merger? Does this mean more work and less personnel? Does this mean slower response because they are now handling twice as much? Dear councils I hope you give a lot of thought to this one!

This seems to be an unusual comment from you SS.
I thought you lived in Hillsborough.
I am aware that you run a very valuable business in Burlingame.
Have you been a recent victim of crime in Burlingame?
Do you know someone who works in the Burlingame Police Dept?
    I always enjoy your insights.

Holyroller, the subject is not me and it is not you. It is Dispatch merger. let’s focus on the subject
I do not know anybody in the police department. I adore and am thankful for the great work the Burlingame and Hillsborough police are doing. I feel safe 100% because of them. God bless them and keep them safe. I am also very thankful for their families. Their opinion about dispatch must come first. I believe all police departments should get what they want to make their job easier including higher pay. Yes higher pay! After all they take care of us and we must take care of them. Savings money at our expense is not wise. Councils must give a lot of thought to this matter and I HOPE they are not influenced by their connections. I will be fine with whatever happens to the merger as long as I know the issue is dealt with a lot of checks and balances. I choose to trust both the councils and the police.
I hope you respect my opinion even if you don’t like what I say since I respect yours. Do I know your opinion about the dispatch merger?

You forget that there are three ways for this to be considered–the police, the council and……..the city manager. Guess which one started this.

Ann, Are you for the merger? If it’s the police then they must know something that we don’t. After all this affects their work. They are the ones who must answer to the public. I would think, police and the city manager are the proper authorities to decide on these matters. This is why you have police chief and city manager.
