Can anyone tell me what this pole is? The photo shows the light post at Washington Field near the batting cage, but next to it is another pole–is it a cell phone tower?

I hope it’s not watching what we do in the park.
It’s for all the neighborhood dogs to pee on.
It scares away elephants.
Works great.
@Boogeyman: I think you’re right. I haven’t seen any elephants in the park since it’s been put up.
Maybe it can double as a story pole…….
I spoke to the people today that were installing the pole.
I was told it is a Cellular Phone Repeater. Whatever that is..
I was told that this operation usually includes a rental/ fee agreement paid to the owner of the property that the apparatus sits on.
Even though these workers look pretty mean, if you ask questions they respond really well.
Being able to speak Spanish helps break any barrier as well.
Interesting!! So…..City Income???
So they can put the pole anywhere on the property and they put it right there? Seems like it is in the middle of an open area of the field. Could be the view in the photo though.
No worries. It’s in foul territory.
In the picture I noticed the PRIVATE BATTING CAGE, behind the Pole.
Can anyone tell us what the story is on that?
From what I know,
Paid with from private donors
Access only through vetting;donors choice.
Built on Public Property.
That “Pole,” I was told will be paying @ $2000.00 per month to the City of Burlingame.
How much rent does the PRIVATE BATTING CAGE PAY?
Sooner or later, someone is going to get in trouble for allowing that sport facility to be in Washington Park
poor work by clueless city government. next time you vote, try voting for someone who may know what they are doing and would prevent this kind of crap in this city
