This amendment received by email from Pen TV to the TV schedule given above:
The SMC Board of Supervisors meeting was 2 hours so the Burlingame Candidates Forum will air on Thursday @ 10pm and Fri & Sat @ 10am.
I hope all four candidates will include a link to the PenTV debate on their individual websites. -
Why worry about when it airs on Pen TV when you can click the link the Lorne provided above and watch it at your leisure?
-
My favorite part of the debate is about 8 minutes in when Cathy Baylock is asked about what kind of economic growth is needed at the bayfront and her answer includes hosting travelling softball teams. Now that is the kind of thinking that could pull us out of a recession.
-
Fred, I agree with you that it is better watching the debate with “Lorne’s link” but for some who have short time access (library patrons) and no sound available, the TV way is a better option for them.
This debate certainly separated the wheat from the basket weaving (!) and I loved the format with some excellent questions from Mr. Simon and excellent answers from most of the candidates. -
I guess 6 or 8 travelling baseball or softball teams with coaches, parents and family friends consuming 80-100 higher-vacancy Friday and Saturday night hotel rooms doesn’t interest some people. Nor do the couple of hundred restaurant meals or the 50 tanks of gasoline or field rental fees.
Funny how I planned such a trip for a Burlingame team going to Monterey and I still get a phone call from the hotel events planner in Monterey every May. That trip was four years ago!
So much for business savvy….. -
Apologies to Joe Baylock, great to fill our hotel rooms but we need more forward thinking than 6 or 8 baseball teams filling our hotel rooms – or filling Monterey hotel rooms.
Along with the assistant of Ms. Love, bringing the right new businesses into Burlingame, encouraging our present businesses to stay and nurturing our auto and other present companies should be on the top priority list of ALL of our candidates.
Business savvy in the big picture …..
