Dedicated to Empowering and Informing the Burlingame Community

For those who missed the 81st annual Little Big Game yesterday, The San Mateo County Times has posted several great photos on its on-line version of the paper: http//www.insidebayarea.com/sanmateocountytimes
or simply google "The San Mateo County Times."
Burlingame retained The Paw for the fifth year in a row. After San Mateo scored on the second play of the game, it did not look good for Burlingame for most of the game. However, in the middle of the fourth quarter, the Burlingame team seemed to re-energize after Sam Lyons intercepted a San Mateo pass. One Burlingame touchdown was scored soon thereafter and was followed by yet another before the game ended with a final score of 31-21.

Portions of the game are already making their way to YouTube.com:

Search “San Mateo Little Big Game” to pull up San Mateo High marching band’s outstanding half-time show of Michael Jackson music. The crowd especially loved the band and dance team’s rendition of Thriller at the end of the show. (The video is about 8 minutes long — Thriller starts at about 4:30)

That search should also bring up another YouTube post of the singing of our national anthem by the combined Burlingame San Mateo choir.

82nd Little Big Game tomorrow begins at 11 at San Mateo. At about 10:00 or shortly thereafter, the BHS Band will march down Burlingame Avenue and then head south on Delaware. The winner of the game wins the league championship and earns a spot at CCS.
