Dedicated to Empowering and Informing the Burlingame Community

Check out the San Francisco Chronicle today where there is an article about Mayor Newsom's idea to ask residents to volunteer for a day through a program called "SF Connect". Of course there is opposition – some local politicians and government watch dogs say that while there is nothing illegal about it, the perception of impropriety can be created when people donate unlimited funds or resources to a cause championed by a powerful politican! Newsom says the motivation is much more altruistic.

A non-profit corporation is being created to manage the program and raise $750,000 to $1 million needed to run SF Connect every year. Wow that sounds alot of money!

SF Connect is still in an infant stage of planning but this could be an idea ripe for Burlingame!?
