   It seems that Safeway was handing out flyers on Friday which may explain the sudden email blitz. I am going to try and get a copy from Safeway but if I dont, does anyone have a copy. Love to see what it says.

   If the union members show up on behalf of Safeway, wouldn’t they be considered SCABS, since the unions are striking Safeway in S. Cal? If a large group of union members can take the time to bus up to the president of Safeway’s house (as they did this past week), wouldn’t any self-respecting union member respect that effort…and stay home Monday night??

   Safeway’s flyer, available at the check-out stands states:

   “The council needs to hear the voice of the community in favor of the project. There is no alternative plan that Safeway is prepared to build and without a favorable Council vote, the existing store will remain as-is indefinitely. If you do not communicate your feelings to the City Council, a small minority could block the new store.”

   It then goes on to suggest you write to the city council and provides the emails of the council members.

   I’m not sure 80% of the voters and 6 out of seven planning commissioners represents a small minority, but what else is new from this tired old plan from Safeway.

   This dog don’t hunt!
