What an interesting Council meeting this evening. A standing room only crowd of supporters from all sides, cake, Gerald's champagne and with some rudeness and discourtesy thrown in. Galligan decided he was ill and could only stay for the 60 minutes of Janney plaudits but had to leave before the 15 minute signing in ceremony of the new council member. This tells you volumes about bad sportsmanship, class (or lack thereof), courtesy (or lack thereof) and childish behaviour. Suck it up, Galligan, and work together with Mrs. O' Mahony, Mrs. Baylock and Mrs Nagel. That would show us that you have a semblance of class!

One response to “Galligan, suck it up!”

  1. Did you see Michelle’s article today (Thursday) in the Daily Journal comparing the graciousness of Sacramento and the Burlingame council switch being treated with less aplomb. Galligan’s comment that he “did not want to get sick on Terry” is so laughable, so dumb and so specious. His churlish rudeness adds up to is his disrespect for the new Council member and new Mayor, not respecting the signing in ceremony and not wishing to work together with “genuine caring and civility” as the new Mayor would like. Or perhaps it comes to bratty third grade behaviour because Galligan cant sit next to his buddy on the council so they can pass notes and whisper as they did last year. Let’s hope he grows up by the time he has to make adult decisions on issues that will affect Burlingame. residents.
