   I’m glad to hear that some people are starting to pay attention. This plan was bad news from the start, and that “arch” is icing on the cake. I wish Safeway would finally get the message. Come back with a brand new idea, one that is scaled correctly, incorporates that huge oak and some classy architecture, for a change. There needs to be enough parking spaces on Fridays and on the weekends, or it will be a disaster. Smaller structure equals more space for parking. Anybody can figure that one out…

   I was amused by Mr. Fuchs article. That was the first time the name Rosalie O’Mahoney and the word “bombshell” have been used in the same sentence………perhaps it’s about time.

   Why not put Safeway out on the Bay where the old Burlingame Drive In was.
   Remember the large Safeway trucks will be delivering sometimes 7days a week. The Burlingame Drive In is easier access and will save your residential and downtown streets.
   Safeway is NOT a nice neighbor and you can forget about them saving trees. In San Mateo they purchase land and demolished the house and trees. Sure the old trees were marked and saved…but they poured cement around them so eventually the trees died and had to be removed.
