February came in like a baby lion and went out yesterday like a lamb. That is supposed to be what happens in March so the papers are asking "Is El Nino Dead?". Our reservoir level shows the steady decline.

In the meantime we are treated to dozens of these signs along the highways and streets–some of them obstructed from view by construction cranes. One has to wonder where are all the so-called conservationists in this on going contradiction? Shouldn't groups like ABAG be scaling back over-development policies? Should our elected officials be messaging the same? Our Congressional rep, Jackie Speier, recently sent out an email survey asking her constituents for their Top 3 concerns. Neither water nor high-speed rail were even on the list.
