Election Day is only two days away and there is a notable amount of confusion and anecdotal evidence that the all-mail process is a mess. Above and beyond the basic postal service issues already noted I'm hearing of properly completed ballots being mysteriously rejected by the County, ballots that were mailed-back not showing up as received on the County website and even some registered voters never receiving a ballot. You should check the website to ensure yours shows as voted.
If you are still sitting on the ballot, you should fill it in and walk it into City Hall where there is a box to collect them. If you see that your ballot has not been received when you think it should have been logged, you can cast a provisional ballot on Tuesday in City Hall.
The postage bill for this experiment could be huge. It started with postcards to alert everyone to the change, then the sample ballot, then the ballot, and now some are getting reminder postcards to vote. Will this election be remembered as Mullin's Mess?
