I still cannot get used to the new name for the Art & Jazz on the Avenue (it's ArtzFest) but I look forward to it nonetheless.  With the Avenew redevelopment project going great guns like this

I was thinking the Chamber will have to move it.  Turns out the plan is to use Howard Ave. for the August 10-11 festivities.  That should be interesting since the vibe is quite a bit different on Howard Ave.  Maybe that will focus more of the attention on the vendors and stages than the stores.

Did anyone go to A la Carte & Art in Mountain View today? I wonder if all of these art events are about the same and we do ourselves a disservice by being all the way back in August? Maybe if it is all the same vendors and same breweries then it doesn’t matter.

From the SMC e-mail news today:
“Burlingame is excited that Burlingame Avenue Streetscape Improvements Project has started. Burlingame Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic between Lorton Avenue and Park Road for several weeks. Shoppers are encouraged to continue to visit the downtown Burlingame area. As a reminder, all businesses will be open throughout construction, and pedestrians will have access to businesses and properties at all times.”
So from Starbucks to the Apple store will be closed for “several” weeks.
