We are still at the tipping point I mentioned back in February on the Avenue.  My stroll last night counted eight vacancies–nine if you count Potpourri in its final throes.  I didn't count what appears to be a "shabby chic" furniture store that looks like it is opening soon or the new Vans shop since they are pretty sure things at this point.

Vans opening
The pet food store's progress seems to have slowed down.  Does anyone know of any more new businesses coming?

If some how we could get the street repaired, sidewalk-landscape replaced, I bet we would have all kinds of Corparations filling the store fronts.
This City of Burlingame and Hillsborough have a huge amount of money to spend on “Extras”.
To bad they do not spend it on infrastructure.
    FIX BURLINGAME AVE.
    THEY WILL COME!

I bet you are 100% wrong. The sidewalks on the Avenue are fine–don’t spend a dime on them. It is the rents that need to be fixed but that is impossible so we live with the revolving doors,

Hillsider…I Agree! It’s the rents that need to come down!
People don’t go in business just to pay the rents and not make a profit.
If the rents go down…they will come!
    Guaranteed!

The local merchants are very happy that the Malouf’s will be moving into the Potpurri. The homecoming will be good for all of the next door shops since they draw a good base.

Just got the email that Sam Malouf is back in business on the Avenew! Welcome back, Sam. Missed you.
