One music lover put the great attendance at B'game's Music in the Park concert yesterday down to better bands playing this year.  Another listener attributed it to "Free" being more attractive this year than last.  I'm guessing they're both right.

The Sun Kings had the crowd estimated at more than 500 people up and dancing in the sun.  "Birthday" was a big hit with those celebrating their special day yesterday and "Back in the USSR" had the former hippies shaking their ponytails at the season finale.  Movies in the Park and on Broadway are your next free events.

“My Big Fat Greek Wedding” is the first free movie playing on Broadway. Wednesday, Aug 19th at 8:30 pm.
Bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on and another to stay warm.
Here are two great quotes by Toula from the movie:
“When I was growing up, I knew I was different. The other girls were blonde and delicate, and I was a swarthy six-year-old with sideburns.”
“I had to go to Greek school, where I learned valuable lessons such as, “If Nick has one goat and Maria has nine, how soon will they marry?”
She shoulda been a contenda for an Oscar that year.
