Power surge (Michelle's full article in Daily Journal)

Last week, President Bush announced he will send 21,500 more combat troops to Iraq in a so-called surge of power to stabilize the economy and eventually allow all U.S. soldiers or, at least the ones still alive to come home. In other words, the answer to months or years of failure is to push forward with greater force, regardless of the prior track record. If temporary escalation is really the magical solution to all problems, why stop at the war in Iraq? There are many other issues which could radically benefit from a power boost.

… Burlingamers fighting over Tom the tree should simply cut down every tree and plant new saplings. Again, the tree line will eventually return but without the road impediments and controversy surrounding the current proposal to clear-cut Eucalyptus, like the personified Tom.
